Popular burger spot Meat Eatery and Taproom, which has become one of the hotspots in Boca Raton, is set to officially reopen after abruptly closing their doors over the summer reportedly due to a hike in rent.
While there is no official location announced at this time, chef and owner George Patt has stated the they are looking to relocate to a brand new location in the near future and that spots in Deerfield Beach and Lighthouse Point are under consideration.
“Yes, we are negotiating two spots right now,” Patti said, according to Miami New Times. “The landlord tried to raise our rent, and we couldn’t come to an agreement.”
Meat Eatery and Taproom was founded by chef Patti and Sommelier Thomas Smith 15 years ago in Islamorada in the Floirida Keys and has gone on to receive a number of accolades such as “Best Burger in Florida” by Reader’s Digest as recently as a few years ago in 2021.
It was also featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.
